The Importance of Self Development

Hi All,

Today I wanted to write a few words about self development and what that means in your online journey. Self development is at the very heart of internet marketing and building your own business.

It is so important that you spend time each day working on you, this can mean reading a book, listening to an audio tape, meditating, learning a new skill, taking an online course, starting a new hobby…

It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you take some action to improve your mind and improve your life…you have no idea how powerful this will be when building momentum in the opportunities  you are involved with.

We only live once..life should be full of fun and joy and new experiences..mindset is so important to your success. A positive attitude will get you through the dark days and further illuminate the bright ones, it will give you such a clear sense of purpose and drive you towards the people who really get it..and want to share the journey and successes with you.

Writing a Simple Business Plan For Your Online Business

What Is a Business Plan and Why Do I Need One for My Online Business?

A Business Plan sounds like something daunting but in reality it is simply a written presentation of your business idea. It can be especially useful for giving you focus when starting and for revisiting when you need motivation to achieve your goals!

So What do I Include?

You should start by creating a well thought out plan of:

  • what your business actually is
  • what the business will do, sell or offer
  • how it will be funded
  • how it will achieve its objectives
  • and how you will launch your offer.

It is really important to have a clear idea in your mind of what the business is and what you want to achieve. By working through the points above you should have an absolute vision of the business you are building and this should allow you to present the business more effectively to others who may be interested. In creating business plans for my  online businesses I always consider and document:

  • details with regards to compensation plan payouts
  • how I plan to achieve growth
  • considerations for any stock or inventory I will hold (if any)
  • cash flow considerations
  • handling distributor attrition (inactive accounts)
  • budgeting for marketing and promotion (including business cards, websites, paid traffic etc)

How Do I Get Started?

Start preparing your business plan by tackling key questions.

  • What will you really be offering and why will people buy it?
  • Where will you get the money to launch and run your business?
  • What market need will you be satisfying?
  • How will your growth strategy work, and what assumptions are you relying

What Do I Include?

1. Executive summary: This summary is an overview to catch the readers attention. It should clearly outline the ideas you hope to present.

2. Business description: This should give an outline of the businesses you have chosen and what they are all about, what you are taking to market, why you have selected the business etc.

3. Market strategies: After researching the target market and the needs that your business offer will meet, present your findings and ideas, how the business will be positioned in the market, its differentiators, and what circumstances will lead to it’s success.

4. Competitive analysis: Present competitors, their products and strategies, and how you will have a competitive edge.  Look beyond the world of network marketing and direct selling, for much of the competition exists in places you may not be looking.

5. Financial factors: DO NOT SKIP THIS PART…you must consider how you are going to fund your business..lack of capital need NOT hold you back if you have A PLAN and a strategy that takes this into consideration!

Starting and running a successful business whether traditional or online is exciting, and doing your homework is a vital factor to your success!

What Is Network Marketing and Is It Right For YOU?

Questions to ask yourself before deciding if MLM/Network Marketing is right for you and when choosing which company……

You probably have an image firmly set in your mind of what network marketing (also known as direct sales or multilevel marketing) is all about…housewives sitting on Facebook all day selling lipstick or similar for something to do or a high pressure sales type person trying to convince you how easy it is to become a millionaire if you can manage to sell a million tubes of zit cream by getting your friends and your friends friends to sell by any means possible!

Both of these images couldn’t be further from the reality of network marketing. It’s neither a hobby nor a get-rich-scheme but an opportunity for you to earn money running your own part- or full-time business.

But what does it take to succeed in this industry? These are the important things to look at when selecting a MLM/Network Marketing business opportunity.

Choose wisely….
There are six key things that anyone considering an opportunity should be looking for…

Number one: Does the company have excellent products or services that consumers will use and need more of? and do those products comply with all the regulations of the market you are operating in?.

Number two:How stable is the company? How old is the company? Is the company financially secure?…A company does not have to be well established..however you do need to understand the level of risk involved in the company and make sure the risk is worth the reward….

Number three is the marketing/pay plan..how fair and generous is the distribution? And how clearly is it explained?This is really crucial as the pay plan represents exactly how you’ll get paid…or not get paid.

Number four is the integrity of the company and the management. As much as possible, research the company, the products and the experience of the CEO, their experience in the network marketing industry, and their background. Have they been successful in other companies in the industry? Do they have a good reputation?

Number five is momentum and timing. Look at where the company’s at, what’s going on with the company, and if it’s growing.

Number six is support and training . You may have selected a great company with excellent management, products that make a difference, a marketing plan that’s fair and very generous, and momentum and stability, but if you don’t have a system in place that works, all of that doesn’t matter.

Practice what your mentor teaches.To succeed,you need to be willing to listen and learn from them and you need to duplicate what they teach you.How supportive are they? Do they call you? Do they help you put a plan in place? Are they as committed to your success as they are to theirs?

When using the Internet to market remember that inevitably the ones who end up with no friends and a bad reputation are those that use it to spam.Just DO NOT DO IT, when using the internet as a marketing tool. It is the fasted way to get a bad reputation both for yourself and to the company you’re with.

Don’t quit your day job…yet. Never leave your full-time position unless you’re absolutely certain that the income that’s coming in with this company is going to be there long term.

Starting A Network Marketing Business When Your Family Think Your Crazy!

Many people turn to Internet Marketing because they are not satisfied with the life they lead and they want to find another way…

A Brief Overview To Driving Traffic

I wanted to write a brief introduction this morning with regards to driving traffic (both free and paid) and talk about some of the methods I use to drive traffic to my opportunities and blogs to get sign ups.

Traffic is the lifeblood of any business and as this blog progresses I will be covering this topic in much more detail..I am aware however, that some people have just set up their business and need some practical tips to get traffic flowing to their offer now..

So what is traffic? Well traffic is the stream of visitors we direct to our opportunities  in the hope that they will either buy our products or sign up and become our business partners and team members. Without traffic no one will see your opportunity or product and your business will almost certainly fail!

The first thing you need to do when starting to buy traffic is to set yourself a budget, I cannot emphasise how important it is to make a traffic plan and stick to it! Being consistent and building a list of contacts is the only way to build your business and then scale up!

The second thing I would recommend that you do is find a good marketing system I would recommend Power Lead System, so that you can start to learn about lead capture pages, sales pages and autoresponders (I will cover this in another blog post in the near future.It is not a necessity to go ‘all in’ if you are on a tight budget and there are free trials and low cost starter packages but it really does help with conversions, lead management and automating your business if you have a marketing management system in place. It is also important that you get to the more advanced packages as soon as you are able to financially!

So on to the traffic!!

The first way I get traffic is through solo ads and other methods of paid traffic..I use websites including MLM leads and Udimi depending on my budget…traffic quality and service varies and it is always wise to research the vendor before you buy from them..For some sellers you will need to write your own email swipe and from others it is included in the price of the traffic (I will write a post on email swipes in the near future)

The second way I get traffic is through Futurenet and Futureadpro. Futurenet is a social media platform that is proving very lucrative for promoting to other business users. Futurenet is free to join but also has a business model and products to sell which you can use if you choose! Futureadpro is a rev share that allows you to advertise your business through targeted adverts linking to your website. I am having great success with this programme at the minute and I also use the rev share generated to buy more traffic!

If you are on a particularly tight budget and need low cost traffic I would recommend looking at Leasedadspace…They sell some really low cost packages that are actually generating opt ins and leads…traffic exchanges can also be used to generate leads internally  or externally  by clicking on adverts..for each advert you click on you earn a visitor to your opportunity..you can also pay for traffic packages.I have also used Traffup and Trafficadbar with some success.

The final way I create traffic for my opportunity is through, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogs and other social media platforms. You gain leads on social media by writing interesting content, articles and posts and sharing them in the hope of building relationships and getting interest in your businesses. This method is time consuming and relies on being quite creative with your content..spamming your link does not count!!Again I will be covering social media in more detail in an upcoming post.

There is a huge wave of people in the UK jumping onto the network marketing bandwagon. These people come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have different levels of experience, some of them seem to do incredibly well very quickly, some have a steady but progressive journey and some of them seem to do absolutely nothing…but what is it that distinguishes the successes from the failures in this type of business?

This article has been written for those of you that REALLY want to succeed in network marketing and ultimately want to take their business to the next level…If you are not prepared to take the time to invest in yourself and your personal development then I’m not going to soft soap it….you are never going to make it…

If you are serious about succeeding in one of these opportunities, you are going to have to be willing to do lots of learning, lots of targeted activity and also learn to have patience and persistence… It is essential that you do lots of training, actively pursue self development and learn how to brand yourself and build yourself a good name and a solid reputation.

This seems to be the difference that separates the winners from the losers ….Those that treat online opportunities as a get rich quick scheme and expect instant results usually get disheartened and drop out very quickly…those that recognize that network marketing is a profession and requires patience, learning and self development may take a little longer to achieve their goals but they will get there if they are consistent and persistent… and those people who fall into network marketing and just get it…those that are natural networkers and use the business as an incredible tool usually go on to develop and build hugely successful business very quickly…

It doesn’t matter if you are on the slow and steady or the natural networking route….if you practice learning..application and duplication…you will get there in your time and at your pace…

Those that never embrace the 3 rules of learning… application… duplication can only expect to fail…

Those that embrace the rules either naturally or through applied learning will have success…. It really is that simple…choose a great mentor..learn..apply and duplicate…
